    Starting system from startup disk

I ought to know this, but: WhenI have to start the system from startup floppy, everything loads fine. I get the A prompt. How do I do a scanreg/restore from here?
    Thanks!

You'll have to shutdown to DOS from win98. Boot up to DOS by holding the CTRL KEY DOWN and then choose the Command Line Prompt.

    Then type in, scanreg/restore.
Choose a date BEFORE the problem(s) occurred.

Follow Prophet's directions in as much as you turn on the computer and while it is booting I hold down the F8 key (you might have to hold the control key down as Prophet said), choose command prompt and at the C:\ (C: prompt) type scanreg /restore (note the space before the /restore) If your computer won't boot up, (if your windows are corrupt) and you start with the boot disk and end at the A:\ prompt you might try typing C: enter then typing scanreg /restore at the C:\ prompt there. Not sure if it will work but worth a try.
