lost lpt1 have canon c5500 printer
had a conflict between my sound card and printer port, i solved the sound problem, but lost the printer. dont have lpt1 anymore computer keeps telling me to put in the cd disk to setup the printer, must have lost that disk, tryed to download the printer driver with no success, wet into device manager tab found a yellow exclamation point on printer, where can i get a cd disk? please help.

Transfer the driver to diskette, use start button> setting> printers.

Sounds like an irq conflict. Is the printer on when you bootup? If you lose the sound again try moving the SC to another slot.
Check setup (bios) exit with save. see if it reinitalized the port.
If that model printer has a serial port you may try that, too. Serial printing is much faster than parallel anyway.
