tab button is goofy

i don't know what happened and i know one of you can help! today my tab button instead of tabbing from line to line or section to section say from username to password now changes screens from program to program ala alt-tab. how do I make it normal again???

Remove it from Device Manager, shut down, remove the KB's connector, reconnect it, reboot.
If no luck, try the KB on another machine. Same thing? Replace it.

before doing that, hit all four alt and ctrl keys a few times. sometimes they get "stuck" (same with the right mouse button and the windows key).
