Windows Update dead
I'm setting up a new machine with a clean install of 98SE. In the Start menu, when I click on 'Windows Update', nothing happens.
I can access it if I simply type in the URL into the browser (IE5.5), but the Start link is dead.
Any ideas??

i went to windows update aabout 2 months ago and instead of the page loading in my browser normally it showed a plain white page with "Hacked By Chinese" in red letters...
even M$FT cannot keep their own servers & networks secure 100% of the time, and anymore i do not take M$ Windoze serously, and i do NOT keep ANY critical files or files that may contain personal info that could be exploited by a hacker...
end

kenlinzee - Sorry.
johnking - You da man!!
However, I just 'repaired' IE (from add/remove) and it seemed to fix things up. Things seem OK....for the moment!
Thanks again.
