    How To Open DAT files?

    I purchased a game CD and the instruction manual on the CD is in DAT format. How do I open this? I have windows98 second edition and I run Internet Explorer 6.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You can open it with programs like Notepad and Microsoft Word.

    I've tried using Notepad and Word but I keep getting the same window. The page comes up with lots of symbols and gibberish basically.

    When you start the cd there is probably a choice to review or print the manual.....have you tried that?
