Extracting Hi-Res Frame From iPhone Live Photo

They tell me that a "live photo" consists of a high res frame (called the key frame) together with some low res video frames.

I need help extracting the key frame for use elsewhere and for saving.

All the Google help I see tells me to select on arbitrary frame as a new key frame which is not what I want because I will certaily choose a low res frame.

Not interested in picking the frame with the best composition like nobody blinked their eyes. Just want the frame the camera saved as hi-res.

You would need a third-party program for that.

AI info (also found on other sites):

To extract a high-resolution frame from an iPhone video, use a dedicated app like Video to Photo or Frame Grabber from the App Store, or import the video to a desktop application like VLC Media Player or a video editor for frame-by-frame accuracy. A simple screenshot through the Photos app will capture a low-quality image, so using a specialized tool is key for preserving the highest quality.
Using Third-Party Apps (Recommended for High Quality)
    1. Download a dedicated app:
    .
Search the App Store for apps like "Video to Photo" or "Frame Grabber" that are designed to extract frames.
    2. Open the app and select your video:
    .
Launch the app and find the video you want to extract a frame from within your photo library.
    3. Select the desired frame:
    .
Use the app's interface to scroll through the video and find the exact frame you need.
    4. Export the frame:
    .
Look for an option to "Save Image" or "Export Frame," which will save the selected frame as a high-quality image in your photos.
Using a Desktop Application (for even more control)
Transfer the video to a Mac or PC: Get your video file from your iPhone to your computer.
Use a video editor or player:
VLC Media Player: Open the video in VLC, go to Preferences > All > Video > Filters, enable the Scene Filter, set the image format, and then play the video to automatically extract frames to a designated folder.
QuickTime Player (Mac): Open your video in QuickTime Player, then use the slider to find the perfect frame.
Export the frame: In QuickTime Player, go to File > Export As > Export Frame to Pictures to save the frame as a high-quality image.
Why a Simple Screenshot is Not Ideal
Taking a regular screenshot of a video in the Photos app will result in a much lower quality image than the original video frame.
For the best possible quality, you need a method that extracts the frame directly from the video file, not by taking a picture of the screen.

Thanks but that sounds very complex (are all AI solutions that complex?) I will need to hold of until I have a block of time available to attack this.
