Why doesn't my C drive desktop display images

My Win 11 computer has a weird glitch. It doesn't show desktop thumbnail images, it only shows icons. When I bring up the same thing on other drives I see the thumbnails. What is preventing my main drive from showing my thumbnail pics?

One more question. I accidentally deleted my History. Any way to restore?

I don't know what I did but my thumbnails just appeared. All the icons have either a check mark or a cloud on them. Hmmm.

The Check Mark or "Cloud" might or might not indicate that the OneDrive data theft system is active. You might want to check on that, and make sure that your still have copies of your files on YOUR hard drive or SSD.
