[RESOLVED] Problem installing Windows 10 on Optiplex 790.

Keeps asking for a media driver. I used Killdisk to wipe out the partition with the mixed OSs on it. Now when I try to install Windows 10, I get as far as it will go then it says I have to install media driver that's missing.

Is this a case where you need a SATA driver?

Dell doesn't list Windows 10 as a viable OS for this computer. It was a refurbished computer bought from Dell and came with Windows 7. Well, I should say when my brother bought it, there was Windows 7 on it. I don't know what OS it had originally.

If Windows 10 was installed at one time, it should be possible to re-install it.

Yes but it was installed over Windows 7 so it was using Windows 7 drivers. Remember that fiasco?

He decided that I should just install windows 7 back on there and later he'd just buy another computer with Windows 10 already installed.
