    netsh interface show interface

When I use this command, it returns two "Local Area Connection". The second one is named "Local Area Connection 2".

First question is why are there two? I uninstall them and did a hardware scan. Both came back.

Second, and more importantly, how do I find out which one is the active one? I have used NetEnabled property but it doesn't tell me which of the two is the main active one to disconnect from the internet.

What motherboard do you have? Does it have dual LAN ports?

Did you check Control Panel - Network Connections? That shows which connections are connected. You can change the network connection name if you want. The name change would also show in netsh.

You could send the results of the netsh command to a text file and post that information here.
