The thing with the store and Kellogg's vs. Post is that if the clerk refuses to stop waving it in your face after you've said no thanx - you can straighten things out with a blow to the appropriate location - it tends to keep it in line some

I somewhat prefer the old web - it was largely populated with network knowledgeable and a 'site' that behaved that way was spanked. (at least it found itself a leper on routers)

Smart marketing! I'm sure this type of stuff will keep the corporate lawyers of this world busy for a long time as the world of e-commerce keeps on going through growing leaps, bounds and growing pains.
    Ad-Aware comes in handy, eh?

It seems like the "hard-up, last ditch" approach to me. Desperate, young Madison Avenue Ad men seeking to impress their mediocre peers in the petty reefer madness of dog eat dog New York (American imperialistic) mentality.

Gotta admit tho', it's the most annoying use of the Virus Format I've seen yet and ir aggravates hell outta ME.

Clearly an example of the E-business advertising model in it's death throes. The question is, will the subscription model be the answer? Will you need an annual subscription to sites like...dare I say it, VirtualDr? Will we frugal(cheap) netizens, pony up for the use of cool apps like ZA, Ad-Aware, LeechFTP, Arachnophilia, DAP, etc., ...? And the right to use the services at our favorite sites like MSN, Yahoo!, Google, and the rest?

Well I finally got there from here. When you click on sting's link you get a quick page with a Web Bug that redirects you to the final page. As I run SpyBlocker I get stopped at the Web Bug page. Turn SpyBlocker off and I get through.

Oh I see now the intention of the original post.. sorry I thought it was a comment on generalities... sorry sting.

Yes redirects, web bug filters etc..
Another thing is who your web host is? if you pay for premium services you have control. If you go for these bargain basement sub-server web hosters, web rings etc.. well what do you expect?

There are counter measures you can take sting but I'm no expert in that area. mach
