Photo size from Phone
I hope this is the correct forum. Please redirect me if it's not.
I am new to smart phones and have bought an android. Just had an overseas trip and downloaded all my photos onto my laptop. However, they only appear as a small photo (dimensions 243wx324h and 25.5kb.)
As I am used to larger photos from my digital camera I am very disappointed as I want to show them to my friends on my TV.
Is there anything I can do about this or is it a matter of new vs. old technology?

What is the make/model of the phone? Android phones have many different specs.
Are you sure you pulled the photos from the correct folder? It sounds like you grabbed the thumbnails and not the real photo files.

Huawei model U8815. I imported pics. using Windows choice from pop up menu. Don't know how else to do it.
I didn't get a choice of thumbnails or photos.
Now I am in REAL trouble. I deleted the folder from my laptop and tried again and it tells me "no new photos" are found.
I still have the photos on phone. HELP

The camera is 5MP. So you must have gotten the wrong photos, probably the Gallery thumbnails.
Camera Primary 5 MP, 2592х1944 pixels, autofocus, LED flash
So you're connecting the phone to the laptop via USB cable? Or do you have a micro SD card and adapter?
Either way, browse to the DCIM folder. You should see the pictures there, or possible in another folder in DCIM. Each picture would be around 500-750KB.

rosg--Once downloaded to the PC you should open each photo in a graphics editor such as Irfanview. You then can enlarge the photos and save the enlarged version. Sharpness may not as good, but, barring all other solutions, you will have larger images.
Irfanview also allows you to sharpen a little.

Thanks both,
Did a straight copy from the DCIM camera folder and worked fine.
The problem is when the windows pop up appears I thought that was the only way I could get photos across.
Didn't have to use Irfanview photos are good.
