Removing A Soldered DC jack with a Dremel Tool

Has anybody tried removing a bad laptop DC jack by cutting it in half with a Dremel tool? The idea is to expose the legs individually that are soldered to the motherboard. Supposedly it is very difficult to unsolder all of the joints at the same time that connect the DC jack to the motherboard because the heat from the soldering iron actually transfers to the whole DC jack making it hard to unsolder.

I had a local repair shop guy tell me that he just cuts the DC jack in half horizontally with a circular dremel cutting blade until each leg of the DC jack is exposed. Once the legs are exposed he just unsolders them 1 at a time. I haven't tried this yet but was curious to see if anybody has tried this technique.

Solder sucker and/or wick would be safer.

I actually just tried this and it worked amazingly well. I cut the DC jack in half (horizontal to the motherboard) with a dremel. I then was able to see the pins that were soldered to the motherboard.

They were no longer part of the jack which I think was acting like a heat sink when I was trying to unsolder the pins before. I just unsoldered the pins one at a time and removed them. The only thing you really have to watch out for is that the dremel does jump on you while you are cutting.
