    Browers Won't Install

    I have something weird happen. I use Opera. One day, the shortcut of it disappeared off my desktop. I uninstalled Opera Stable, then try to install it. It disappears. Then tried to install Chrome, nothing. What is going on?

    Do you mean just the shortcuts are missing? Or do you mean the browsers won't install at all?

    Are there browser shortcuts in the Start Menu?
    Did you check C:\Program Files for the Opera or Chrome folders?

    Did you scan your system for malware? If so, what programs did you use?

    Both. The shortcuts disappeared and installing it would disappear as well. I ran my antimalware programa. Found a couple of things. After that, it is still happening.

    What did you find? What apps did you use? You may want to make a thread in the ICU to make sure the system is clean.

    The shortcuts disappeared and installing it would disappear as well.
    So the actual applications disappear?

    Did you try a system restore to a point to when your system was working properly?

    You may want to make a thread in the ICU to make sure the system is clean.
    And the nasty is probably written into nortons so Nortons can not find it. Hope they do not have to wipe the drive and start from scratch.

    I tried to do a system restore on the computer, but it wont do it. Im done with the computer. Its ole as dirt anyway.
