Windows Media Center Not Listed in Windows 7 Home Premium

I was wondering why the Windows Media Center is Not Listed in Windows 7 Home Premium under "Start, ALL Programs"?

Is this because the Windows 7 installation setup program ran and there was not a Television tuner installed at that time?

My laptop does not have a TV tuner installed, but I understand that Windows Media Center and the ability to watch live TV over cable is available in this version of Windows 7.

Did you try searching for Windows Media Center from the Start-Search programs and files box?

Did you check that C:\Windows\ehome\ehshell.exe is there?

WMC is installed for Home Premium even if you don't have a tuner.

Yes, I tried using the search box and all that comes up is Windows Media Player.
I searched for ehshell.exe from the search box: not found
No Ehome directory under c:\Windows either that I can see.

I have a follow up question.....
When I search for ehshell.exe, the name of the Media Center Executable file, it is not found... although the program is now listed and starts up without a problem. Why can't the Start, Search Programs and Files procedure find it? I have tried ehshell.exe and ehshell and *.exe in the search box.

Honestly, Windows Search is still kinda weak for file searches. It only searches the default libraries and folders, not the entire disk.

I was able to locate ehshell.exe by scrolling to the bottom of the list and clicking search again...Computer.

You are correct Midnyte, it only searches those folders by default.
