[RESOLVED] Can't download anything via IE
This started recently on a PC where it will not download files. In IE 9, it simply wouldn't show anything when you tried to download files, so I reset the browser to default. Still not luck.
I rolled it back to IE8, and now it just says that it can't open whatever site it is I'm trying to download from, even on known working links.
I get the same problem in IE with no add-ons, and in Safe Mode. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Edit: I should note that I can download files normally through Firefox, but I need to be able to download via IE for a 3rd party program running on this PC.

shazbot--Is this true of all websites? Do Firefox or Chrome work?
If this is something recent, try a System Restore.
If no help, IE Tools|Internet Options|Security Tab|Custom Level|Download section. File download, is "Enable" is selected?
Perhaps of help

It was only happening with IE; Firefox and Chrome were working fine.
After running through a list of different solutions, from making sure downloads were enabled to just plain resetting IE, I was finally able to resolve it with a System Restore. Part of me wishes I knew what happened to bring about such a change, but I'll settle for knowing how to fix it when it does happen.
