Dumped Firefox again .. for Google Chrome ...

I used to really enjoy Firefox Mozilla version ( 20.0.1 ) fast reliable etc etc .. but for the past few weeks- problems problems problems ..
It seemed five times slower loading up ..than Google Chrome .. It seemed to be always full of 'spam type' quality's ... ( always extra tabs on the top row that had to be closed off after a few days )

also would lock up my other users (3) on the PC windows Xp ........... all reported same symptoms ..

So I pulled the plug for this default browser and am back to Google Chrome again .. Fast reliable and for the time being my main browser ..

will keep Firefox Mozilla in my favourites in case Chrome starts to act up one day ..

Usually when FF starts doing that, you have picked up some nasties. Broni has tools for clearing them out.

Yes, I agree. Have not used Firefox for a couple of years now.

Interesting reading about your difficulties with FF.

I'm not sure what you mean by "It seemed to be always full of 'spam type' quality's ... ( always extra tabs on the top row that had to be closed off after a few days ) ".

Do you let the browser just run open for days on end? If so, I would expect problems with any browser (except for maybe IE which seems to suffer less) due to the fact they all seem to have issues running for lengthy periods of time. I don't know if the issues are memory leaks or what. But I always close all browsers daily. Really seems to help a bunch.

I use FF at home and Chrome (sometimes FF) at work. Honestly, the load times and response does not seem to be very different to me. If you are running many extensions on either one, that could be a big factor in how well the browsers run (caused by either the browser and/or the extensions running in it.)

Other than myself, the small office where I work is virtually all FF. They are all v20.0.1 and no one has issues. Never hear of any complaints. But they only run 3 extensions (WOT, Adblock Plus and Public Fox (to control downloads.)) And, their browser are all shutdown daily. (This is in a mix of XP and Win 7 machines.)

Anyway, As I noted, it was interesting to read of your issues...

Mainly use Firefox here as well . . . on Desktops, Laptops, Netbook, Smartphone and Tablets running various flavors of Windows XP, 7, 8, Linux and Andoid. Works great for me.

That sounds like an infection to me. Did you get your system fully diagnosed in the VDR ICU? Malwarebytes is good, but that's only the beginning.

Count me in the FF 'like' group - so much so that I use the beta version and report problems/enhancements: which, I must say, are very minimal. I've only found one site in my limited world of Web interest that has problems with FF and not another browser.

Regarding taking a long time to load? I find that more a function of a whole lot of other environment variables, like network speed. For me, I haven't found any unexpected payloads using FF, but I do keep my security settings pretty tight.
