    Firefox issues

    Hi all,

Last week after Firefox 20.0.1 update I noticed weird things happening when I visited my favorite sites.

Examples include, Disqus doesn't load anymore when I visit my favorite comic site http://www.arcamax.com/thefunnies/ or Farmville 2 game in Facebook doesn't load correctly. IE9.0 works perfectly as does Chrome. My favorite browser has always been Firefox.

Any ideas would be helpful. MS Security scanned clean as well as Malwarebytes Pro scanned clean. Also, I do not visit questionable websites, just news and comics.

    Win 7, 64-bit, 3-year old Dell.

    Thanks.

The current version of FF is 21. Maybe you should upgrade and see if that resolves some issues.

Did you upgrade your Flash? What version of Flash are you running?

What extensions are you running in FF? Did you try running FF in safe mode (i.e. no addons)?

    Midknyte,

I upgraded to FF 21 today and the issues remained. Flash version is 11.7.700.202. Will try safe mode and post back.

Just tried running FF in safe mode and issues remain.

    Thanks.

Hmm. I think that comics site is working for me. I don't play Farmville, so someone else would have to check that.

Maybe you can try doing a full uninstall/reinstall of Flash? It would wipe out both the IE and Plugin browser versions, so you'd have to reinstall them.

Otherwise, it could be a problem with your FF profile. You could create a new profile and see if that works.

Thanks for the replies. Everything you mentioned, I have already tried over the last 4 days.

You could try doing a system restore to a point where the sites were working. It's hard to troubleshoot when I can't duplicate the error.

Do you have any firewall software installed other than Windows Firewall?

One more thing I found, my Java doesn't work in Firefox. I'm running Java version 7.0.210, both 32- and 64- bit versions.

FF is only 32-bit. The Java plugin has been disabled because of security concerns. I don't even have the Java JRE installed anymore.

If you really want to re-enable it:

    Good afternoon.

I had no problems accessing the comics site. I'm running FF 22.0 beta.

In fact, with only one noted exception, it's working fine for all the sites I visit, and that one just duplicates certain text 'headings' without affecting the site's usability. Granted, I'm not surfing 100+ sites daily (or even weekly), but if a site is working fine for IE and/or Safari, it works (for me) using FF.
