[RESOLVED] Acer Aspire blue screen error
Hooray, 3rd Acer thread out there now huh
Anyways, hey guys. Been a while. I have encountered a blue screen with my...about a year old Acer I got. It happened a few times over past few months already, but this time it happened while I was using it, so I decided to address the issue. It seems to happen at random times because once I left the computer and came back with it already restarted from a blue screen. The blue screen has happened randomly, so I can't connect any dots really. Just now though it happened while I was watching a youtube video.
I am running an Acer Aspire 5750-6438, Windows 7, haven't done really any MS updates. Because I noticed these blue screens a while ago, I don't remember if I did something to my computer at the time they started... (my fault, sorry). Also I did do a full virus scan via Avast just a few weeks ago, and my computer is running fine, so I don't think it's a virus or anything.
I did get a status report after the computer restarted, which I will post here;

Does BlueScreenView give you any additional information about the program that caused the BSOD?

Try installing an updated driver for it from the Support section of the Acer website.

Ok sorry for getting back here late. I updated the driver, however, a bit curious if that did anything. Date on that update was 2010, and I bought this computer way after that. And the computer already did seem updated, so I don't know. Anyways, I guess it just re installed the driver or something. I'll mark the thread as resolved for now, if I get the blue screen again I'll check back with you guys! Thanks for the help and time(:

It may not have been athrx.sys itself but something else conflicting with it.
Whatever the problem was, hopefully it's gone for good.
