For both the article's thoughts, and some slightly different reasons, I too think Win 8 is in trouble.
I recently attended a meeting where Win 8 was demoed by both MS and by an experienced IT guy (at different times of the day so they didn't influence each other.)
After the dust settled, I (along with most in the room) felt Win 8 is a major fuax pas on Microsoft's part for the enterprise/business PC world. Win 8 is totally social media and touch screen centric. Which is the absolute last thing I (and apparently others) want/need where I/they work.
This week, I spoke with the company's wallet. I ordered 7 Windows 7 PCs and hope I will never have to buy Win 8 as it currently exists.
