    How HDTV Works

    I want to learn how HDTV works. So far I can only find online info on how the screen works - the pixels, the Liquid Crystals, etc, etc. I am not interested in that. I want to know how it works from the point of signal going in and what happens from there. Just can't find anything. Maybe I just don't know the right keyword to use to search. Can anyone help?

    Thank you fink. The first site is very informative but it is not what I am looking for. I am trying to understand the "mechanics" of the working of a HDTV set. Let's say, you get the content from your local cable company. The signal come in the house via a coaxial cable. Let's say you don't have need a cable box b/c your HDTV is cable ready. So what happens to the signal coming in? It goes to the tuner I suppose. So, what does a tuner do? Does the HDTV set need a A/D converter also? Is the tuner the A/D converter, also? Then, what's next? You know, this kinda things. That's what I wanna learn.
