Laptop Memory for HP Pavillion G series
t's an HP Pavillion, G6 series model: g6-1a30us. I was wondering what kind of Memory I would need, like number of pins DIMMS or what not, the only specs I have on it currently it shows as 2 DIMMS...currently 3 Gigs of RAM come installed with it, when I opened the back up.....it had 2 chips in it already.
What I don't understand is...is those already pre-installed chips 1.5 gig a piece? LOL That's strange. But wanting to replace them with 2-4gig dimms to max it out at 8 gigs of ram
Which should I use? I usually purchase from New Egg
Thanks

No. It would be a 1GB and a 2GB, not 2 1.5GB.
Use the memory advisor on the crucial site to get the specs. You don't necessarily have to buy it from them.
