missing windows installer
I recently tried to carry out some dowloads but got an error message 1601 win installer at fault I went into services and win installer is missing from the list.I tried msiserver.zip then msiserver.reg then Merge no good.Went on microsoft site to install version 4.5 win. installer but could not find correct package for vista basic 32 bit.Went to Users\ me\app data\local\temp dumped files no good tried starting in win 32 command prompt no go am now stumped.

re-win installer
Have resolved the problem downloaded msiserver.reg imported to registry bingo! it is also listed in "services" now.
