Last ideas, try different ports.
and should you be using a hub, bypass it.

Mouse won't work on any of the ports but all other usb devices do work on any usb port. I'll try it in Safe Mode next time I go over there.

It is something corrupted in Windows, I'm sure of it. I think the next thing to try would be an over the top re-install.
