Stop Error Help
Several weeks ago I began getting a stop error. This may pop up randomy at anytime. Yesterday I returned to my computer after it was idle for several hours and there it was. I flashed the bios and updated every possible driver. No help. Here are the numbers that appear in the stop error. If this makes any sense to anyone, please let me know what the source of these arrors may be.

Thanks.

What version of Windows? Are there any files mentioned on the blue screen?
Have a look in Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event viewer at the Application and System logs, and see if there are any errors in there that may indicate why the PC crashed. Look for anything with a red circle with a white X through it next to the entry.
Nick.

Running Win XP SP3. I checked event viewer many times. No warnings or errors show up there. No yellow or red stuff in device manager either. The stop error does not mention any file names. I guess that would make diagnosis too easy to do that. I googled the stop error codes and get no help at all. Seems thay can mean almost anything. But I thought maybe this specific combination of codes might mean something special if someone here had them before.

Did you do a memory test and hard drive diag?
Since it's a random problem and there is no associated file, this one might be hard to track.

Ran memtest with no errors. Also ran chkdsk and Seagate's Seatools on both internal HD's. Both drives passed.

You should really run the manufacturer's HD diags, not just chkdsk.
What about your system temps? Did you check that the heatsink/fan is clean on both the CPU and GPU?

Is this a desktop or laptop system? If it is a desktop, it couldn't hurt to open the case and check the motherboard for bulging or leaking capacitors.

I also ran Seagate Tools diagnostic. All drives passed.
I'll crack the case tomorrow and inspect. Also look for dust.

Got another stop error a while ago. Numbers were different than they were before. Opened case and inspected. Everything nice and tight, no dust, no bulging capacitors. I ran Dell diagnostics from the preboot menu. All passed. Maybe it is time for a new computer

What Power supply are you using? Brand name and rating? If you added a new hard drive (or other item) recently, you may not be pulling enough power to supply the item.
Or, the power supply may be on it's way out....Cheaper than a new computer.

Nothing added recently. Power supply is OEM to a Dell Precision T5400 work station.

It's been 2 weeks now without a stop error. I think I may have fixed this thing.
Event viewer was showing a DECOM error because the Google software updater service would not start. I checked services and saw that this service was disabled. Previously it was set on manual. Everytime I would reset it to manual it would turn itself off again and throw another DECOM error. I uninstalled the Google toolbar and Google Earth. Then I used CCleaner and Glary Utilities to pick any left over pieces from the registry. Then I reinstalled everything Google. I haven't had a stop error since.
The program that really saved my bacon throughout this entire ordeal was Shadowprotect by Storagecraft. There were times when I couldn't boot this computer due to stop errors. Booting from the Shadowprotect disc and restoring a previously good image worked 100% of the time. Without this program this computer may have ended up on the junk pile.

Another option: Delete the partition and reinstall the OS.
