best editing program
hello all, i need help, trying to get a all in one program that changes my own camcorder avi and any avi files etc, to a format that i can burn on a dvd and watch on any dvd player. [Is it mp2 or whatever??] Blu-ray would be good as well.
Free or paid for software as long as it is not too expensive.
hope i have explained what i need adaquately?
Thanks for any replies, gep

There is no such thing as overkill. 'Open fire' and 'is it dead?' are the only sane options when threatened.

Could you explain what the problem was when you used the software ?
Now, dvdflick at least and probably the others can once the video has been added and encoded, either, burn the dvd for you, or create an ISO file to be burned later.
Are you saying you used dvdflick to encode and burn straight to a dvd and it still would not play on the standalone player ?
If that is the case, check a couple of things.
1), Does your player actually support burnt dvds? Some older ones do not.
2), Did you create the disk in the correct format, eg pal as opposed to ntsc, my standalone player could out of the box only support pal disks and i had to enter a secret code in a hidden menu to enable ntsc support for my american (ntsc) disks
3), Did you use a dvd that the player supports, mine for example supports dvd-r and dvd+r disks, some may only support one or the other.
Also check the files on the dvd, load it into your computer, stop any autorun and explore it, you should see two folders, AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS, the video folder containing .bup, .ifo and .vob files.
If you see anything else then something went wrong.
DVD Flick has a downloadable user manual on the site, or check http://www.dvdflick.net/guide/index_en.html
