    Auto Play

I have Windows 7 and when I put a flash drive into my USB port the window no longer stays open for me to open what I need on the flash drive. There is a list of items and I usually open the File Folder. This has worked fine for 8 months now and it has stopped. I see it open briefly but then it disappears. I now have to go to computer and open up the drive it is located on.
    How can I fix this?
I appreciate all of your help.

Have you tried using Windows' "System Restore" to roll Windows back to a previous state when your computer was functioning correctly?

Go to Control Panel>Autoplay, and check that the correct settings are entered there.

I have to say, that Autoplay is a very bad idea IMO, and I always turn it off. There have been countless PCs infected with malware because of Autoplay, and I believe that MS are going to disable it by default in the future, I what I have read is correct. If you get into the habit of opening drives from Explorer it really doesn't take up much extra time - the Windows key + E brings up the Explorer windows instantly.

Autoplay has the correct settings. You are probably right about just opening in Explorer. I will just do that. Thanks for the help.
