Upgrading my headset w/ mic
I'm using a Plantronics headset w/mic that uses 3.5 male jack.
I have the mic cable plugged into the "mic" port on the back of the computer and the other cable on the headset I ran up to my desk. I can either listen threw the speakers or I can plug the cable into my speakers so I can listen threw the headset and cuts off the speakers.
I want to purchase a new USB headset like the following. I'm assuming USB would give me better performance. http://tinyurl.com/37zv3al
How can I set it up so I can still either listen threw the the speakers or the headset.

Will be running Win 7 by Dec. Running Win XP now. Trying to gear up for the new machine.
Those sites were helpful, thanks.

I thought I should mention what I think about this USB idea. I too was looking for a solution to not having to turn off my speakers to use my headset w/mic and was informed audio on USB is not good. So I didn't buy the USB version. I bought a simple splitter that allows me to either kill the sound with mic plugged in or turn off the speakers.

Why are you assuming that USB would give you better performance? From an audio quality point of view, conventional headphones/headsets win every time. The only thing that is in favour of USB is a tiny bit of convenience.
Nick.
