Google Chrome - Enter key failure?

I use most all the current browsers at one time or another, but recently have preferred google chrome. I've noticed an odd failure in chrome that I can't replicate with IE8, Mozilla, Opera, or Safari...

If I'm in a text-entry box, have completed my entry, and SHOULD be able to press the ENTER key to trigger the SUBMIT button, it doesn't work. I'm forced to mouse over to that button and click it to proceed. This does NOT happen with any of my other browsers on the same PC. AND... I don't THINK this used to happen with chrome, until just recently...

Any ideas on where to start???

P.S., the hardware config in my signature is no longer current, just too lazy to fix it right now...

You can press TAB to get to submit and then press enter (I also cannot hit enter in a text field (I have to goto the submit box directly (Or press ALT-X (On VBB sites)))

    Good luck!

    Question

yup, well aware of various work-arounds, my question was about WHY this happens... is this expected in Chrome?

In Chrome, if you go to Google, type in the characters hello (or whatever) and then press the [Enter] key, does it work?

Yes... that works just as expected. The only reason this is a frustration for me is because I use a particular online resource all day long, and this symptom first came to my attention on that site. If I use IE8, Mozilla, Safari, Opera, etc., etc., this always works when I press the ENTER key. It's only in Chrome that I see this anomaly. Sort of an odd failure, don't you think?

Indeed. Does it do the same thing on another computer?

Wonder if that particular website is aware of the problem?
