A theoretical question internet shareing question

If a pc is connected to the internet by way of a usb stick, can this internet connection then be shared with another computer, say a laptop.
If they are connected together by an ethernet cable, straight or crossover.
    Or maybe through a switch.

What do you mean? 3G? Wifi?

To connect 2 computers, you would need a switch or a crossover cable.

You didn't say which OS, but you basically need to look for ICS.

All that said, it's MUCH better to just get a router. They do make 3G routers.
