    Tuneup Utilities

I came across a software called Tuneup Utilities 2010. It sounds like it is a good program from what I read about it and the reviews seem to be great. Has anyone ever used this program? Does anyone know if it is worth using?

I don't believe in them and no way would I spend $50.00 USD.

    Wouldn't touch it.

The biggest (of many) rip-off claims made by these sorts of programs is that it will clean out the registry. It doesn't need cleaning out and odds are that if it does actually do something in there it won't be something good.

Using it may well lead to having to do a clean install.
I would not touch it. !!!

I used a past version of TU. A month or two later I reloaded my system to get back to normal. TU didn't totally mess things up (I think I can take my due there) but it did not help things either. Use CCleaner carefully (for only the things you know need cleaning and never use the registry cleaner) and you'll be ok...

Just use CCLeaner weekly and an occasional defrag with Defraggler or Auslogics Defrag, along with TFC by OldTimer to clean out more hidden temp files. CCleaner misses some of them.

Thanks everyone for replying. I value your advice and will do what you advise me to do or not to do. I already do use CCleaner and a defrag program.

Foxy, I tried searching for TFC by OldTimer to download it and I couldn't find the download program. Could you post the link of the program so I may download it?
