Terrorism by iTunes
I recently installed a new version of iTunes - 9.2.0.61. For over a week it asks me if I want to make it a default program to play music, instead of WMP. It happens every ten or 15 minutes. It is very annoying and distracting, interrupts typing, etc.
Is there a way to stop it?

Do you want it to be your default player?

I once had a similar thing with Photoshop always demanding that I register it. In the end I uninstalled and reinstalled it and all was well.

I uninstalled iTunes and while watching quite lengthy process, it occurred to me that last time I used iTunes was...I forgot. So, I decided that I'll keep on living without iTunes and install it when I need it :-).

The only thing I could find that was related to this problem was to set your player as default and therefore iTunes would stop asking you that question. I don't know if this works or not because I don't use iTunes.

That's one way of fixing the problem

Right!
I got used to WMP. I have nothing against iTunes, in principle. I use WMP as such, i.e. to play music/audio files. I do NOT want to learn iTunes player, even if it's simple. Besides, I suspect it will ask me to buy something from Apples Store, etc. I haven't burn an audio CD for ages. And this: I vaguely remember seeing something about CD burning somewhere in this PC (Gateway SX2840). I saw Nero9 in Start>Programs, didn't study it yet but it looks like it can burn data, music and video. When (and if) I need iTunes, I willdownload it.

I agree about iTunes. I had it on my computer once to help my niece but after trying to figure out what was what, I uninstalled it and never put it on this or any other of my computers again. You don't need it unless you sync Ipods.
As for Nero, it will burn just about any disc and whatever you want to burn on them. I used it for years and never had a problem with it.
