unknown device shows in device manager

Hi All

This is a fresh install of win xp pro sp3 on a AMD machine. I am having issues with the usb(s) in the front panel. I know the headers on the mainboard is fine because it was working fine in the old computer case.

Just now, I discovered there is an unknown device entry in device manager. Pls refer to the snapshot. I cannot figure out what it pertains to ? Could it be the cause of the usb issues ?

Go to Device Manager, right-click the unknown device and choose Properties, then in the Details tab select "Hardware Ids" from the drop-down list. Post back with what it says please.

I guess I figured out what it is :
The ATK stands for AsusTek, meaning ATK0110 is registered to
Asus, for their use as a pseudo-device. It is an alternate means
to access things like the clock generator, or multiplier settings
and the like, when you want to change overclock settings while
sitting in Windows.

Does it have something to do with the front usb ports not working right ?
