Today I finally got a call from the higher tech support from HP. He told me that the problem that HP printers are having with the install is something in the Windows 7 upgrade version and mostly the 64 bit version. This tech came up with a solution for me to get the solution center to install the right way. Although he said that it may not work for other computers, you may want to try it. First, I had to remove the printer and all it's related software. Once I re-booted, I was told to create a new user account. Once created, log off of your regular account and on to the new created account and then install the printer and the software. After doing this, test the solution center. If it is successful, then go and delete the newly created user account. Mine is finally working now. I wanted to share this with everyone in hoping that this could fix someone elses problem, like it fixed mine. Good luck to all who tries this!

Yes it is weird, but if weird works, then I don't mind. This tech also told me that this problem with the HP printers seems to be in the upgrade of Windows 7. If you bought a new computer with 7 installed, then you would be one of the lucky ones without this complication. Also, when trying my fix, you have to make sure that the new account that you create becomes the administrator account. Forgot to add that earlier.

I have similar problem on another HP photosmart all-in-one C2xxx model (can't remember the exact model no.) last week when I helped my friend to install it. I downloaded the most updated driver from HP for the Vista 64-bit machine. Remove the previous installation because my friend had installed it before and have the printer running normally only. I turn off the all-in-one before the installation (lazy to unplug the USB cable).

The 1st installation did not request connection of it and the Solution Center did not run. I removed everything and repeated the process again, this time it request connection of the all-in-one and the whole process is done.

Hoping that my experience will help you.
