    got an offer from Avast

    This AM, when opening free Avast 5., I received an offer from Avast, offering a discount of 50% if I chose to upgrade to Avast Internet Secutity ($ 29.97).
    Is it worthy to spend $29.97? Actually, I am not hot about this offer.

    nganvu--I do not use Avast, but rather MS Security Essentials and ZoneAlarm Firewall--both free. Having said that, the offer from Avast is $30 off their "regular" price and might give you two years protection. http://www.avast.com/index
    Since Avast antivirus is free, you are basically paying for the Firewall. Are you dissatisfied with your present firewall.? There are several good free firewalls available.

    I am satisfied with the free avast.
    I started this thread because of the Avast offer, and I'd like some opinions. I think I will pass on the offer, Some people are having problem with AvastSandbox.
    My wife's PC has MS security essentials. She loves it.
