    Resolved [RESOLVED] Adobe Reader update

I'm getting a message that Adobe reader V 9, needs updating. What's with an update to a reader? If I had Adobe software I could understand the need for updates, but it just a free reader. I'm a little hesitant to update it. Any thoughts on this?

    Windows 7 Home Premium.

They are usually security updates, so you should update it. 9.3.1 is the latest release.

My suggestion would be to get rid of Adobe and get the Foxit reader .Much easier to use and not a resource hog...

PDF-XChange Viewer I like better than FoxIt.

PDF-Xchange is more feature rich than Foxit. Either of them is a decent alternative.

If you do decide to stick with Acrobat Reader, keep it updated.

Thanks for the replies. I've updated the Adobe reader while I check out Foxit and PDF-xchange.

Just watch on Foxit and PDF-XChange for any pre-checked Toolbar installations. I greatly advocate both companies over Adobe but the Toolbar greediness has crept into both companies...
