    Resolved [RESOLVED] Sound Card, Replacing

I'm replacing the sound card in my other computer. What is the best way to go about this. It's a Gateway E600 with a P4, 2.0 GHZ, 1024 megs of ram. Do you just pull the old one out and install the new one, some places I've read said to do this or do you uninstall the drivers in device manager and then install? I'm replacing an Sound Blaster Audigy with a Sound Blaster X-FI Extreme Audio.

You can generally do it either way. I prefer to remove the old drivers first, before shutting own the PC, simply because they are often easier to find while the card is still present.

That's what I thought so that's the way I'll do it. Thanks Sparks for your response.
