    Good Free Photo Organizing Software

I don't know if this should be posted in the Media forum, but I know you guys will set me staright. Anyway, we have tons of digital phtos that need organizing, nothing fancy, but need some good free software. Can someone recommend something?

I'm not familiar with Pro stuff but for home, free Picasa from Google is very difficult to beat for organization. I have yet to recommend it to anyone that hasn't raved about it. http://picasa.google.com/

My other fav photo viewer is free FastStone Image Viewer. Not as good @ organization but it offers some features that Picasa doesn't. http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm

Have to endorse Hans sentiment as regards Picasa .... Used it since it was first released and it does just what you requested .... Quite a few better chargeable but that's the best free one that I'm aware of ... People have also suggested one called IrfanView but I have to say I've never used it but many people sing its praises also

I have to say I've removed Irfanview and Picassa in favor of FastStone because of its excellent photo organizer. And the fact it reads RAW files, now I have a DSLR to play with.
