A question about sound on a HP d5200t
I have a d5200t with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on it. It has intergrated sound and also Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme audio. It also has RealTek. I would assume that RealTek is the on board intergrated sound. I'm using the Sound Blaster as my sound now. So on this computer you use one or the other depending on what you have set up in your bios, am I correct in that? If I wanted to use RealTek I would have to go into the bios and make the change, right?

The most notable Realtek products are 10/100M Ethernet controllers and AC97 audio codecs. There's more though:
Wikipedia > Realtek
Realtek manufactures and sells a wide variety of products throughout the world, and its product lines can be broadly categorized into two subdivisions: Communications Network ICs, and Computer Peripheral and Multimedia ICs. Included among the communications network IC products manufactured and provided by Realtek are: network interface controllers (both the traditional 10/100M Ethernet controllers and the more advanced Gigabit Ethernet controllers), physical layer controllers (PHYceivers), network switch controllers, gateway controllers, wireless LAN ICs, as well as ADSL router controllers. In particular, the RTL8139 series 10/100M Fast Ethernet controllers met their height during the late 90’s, and continued to take up a significant, and eventually predominant share in the worldwide market in the following years. Those devices categorized as Realtek’s computer peripheral and multimedia IC products consist of the traditional AC97 audio codecs, the High Definition audio codecs, card reader controllers, clock generators, IEEE 1394 ICs, and LCD controllers.

I just wanted to confirm that RealTek would be the on board sound.

Real tek more than likely is the on board sound and needs to be enabled in the BIOS.
May have to uninstall the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme audio and install the realtec drivers as the some time corrupt each other.

I'm staying with the Sound Baster Xtreme as my sound, just wanted to confirm that RealTek was the integrated sound on this machine.

SpywareDR Thank You for the info. I was searching HP when I decided to check my mail. It has a Pegatron Motherboard which is a spin off company from ASUS. They make strictly OEM boards. From what I read they just split this year.

You're welcome.
Looks like ASUS started the split January of 2007 and officially completed it by January 1, 2008:
Engadget > Asus formally splits into three companies

Asustek's plan to promote and build the Asus brand has always involved splitting the company into three distinct units, and it looks like the company has finally gone ahead and taken that step -- say hello to the new Asus, which only makes Asus-branded computers, Pegatron, which will handle OEM, mobo, and component manufacturing, and Unihan, which will concentrate on casing, modules and other non-PC manufacturing. Pegatron and Unihan are expected to continue the former Asus' manufacturing tasks with little to no dropoff or transition, but there's a nasty little surprise in store for employees of all three new companies: their former pensions have all been cancelled, and the clock started anew as of January 1. No wonder they named these companies after rejected Decepticons.

Corporate restructuring
In January 2007 ASUS started restructuring its operations.[8] The company will split into three distinct operational units: ASUS, Pegatron and Unihan.
