SCWatcher - what is this ?
Since this appeared I have had a lot of bother.
What the hell IS SCWatcher ?
It has to be closed down when I'm trying to reboot, it comes across as an "Error" of some sort too in the box asking if I want to "force" restart.
It appeared out of nowhere, and I lost the icon of several progs in my start menu, Windows Live Mail, Publisher, Corel, and two or three more.
The area to give the icon back was greyed out in all but Windows Mail, I uninstalled Publisher, but it wouldn't uninstall properly ! Now it won't work or allow me to reinstall - constant errors.
Looks like I'll have to flatten the whole thing and start again from scratch.
But what the hell IS SCWatcher ?
No mention in my "Reno Uninstaller"

I'm having difficulty finding any solid information about this. Some sites report it as a virus / spyware, but they don't give specifics. I suggest you use the MSCONFIG utility to stop it from running at startup and see if you notice a change.

The only barrier to knowledge is the perception that you already have it.

I reckon that's malware You could try System Restore to see if that gets rid of it, rather than going straight for the nuclear option.
Nick.
