To slow to use computer 2.8ghz 1gig ram

I have managed to get some of the requirements to post a hijack log. The computer is so slow I wait for minutes for a page to load. Maybe someone can take a look a see what I need to do to make it faster. This is my Sons father-in-laws computer and it has many important files that I need to save. I have tried to back most of them up. Here is the logfile

Only thing I see wrong in the log is McAfee.
When was the last time it had a defrag?

Download ATF (Atribune Temp File) Cleaner© by Atribune to your desktop.

Double-click ATF Cleaner.exe to open it.

Thanks, I run the ATF and was able to run malwarebytes. It found two Trojans. I disabled system restore and then enabled it again. The people that own this computer believes in Mcafee and I cannot remove it because of that. It does seem to slow a system down but you see where I am on this. I also run superantispyware and fixed all things.

Has anyone other than me had problems with virtualdr website ? I have tried it on three different computers and the site will lock my computer once in a while. I am using IE 6 on two computers and IE8 on the other and it still locks up when I try and bring up something on this site.

On the computer with the slowdown I have got it back running pretty good. I know this computer should be faster than it is. It is the P4 Intel with 1 gig of ram. 80 gig WD HD. I run defrag, ccleaner, scanned with several virus programs and spyware and it finds nothing now. Maybe I can find some way to speed it up being you do not see any bad things running. Thanks. Tom

This site works great using Google Chrome. No lockups at all. The minute I try IE 8 it locks up. I hope the problems is solved soon.
Train, I did use MSCONFIG and unchecked almost all things. So far no help, still slow. I believe Mcafee is causing the CPU spikes. That is what it shows anyway.

I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to install software that would bring you computer to a crawl. McAfee does just that and viruses still slip in. Norton 2009 finally got it right. Our work computer that was bought this year came with Norton 2009 installed. It works great and I see no slow down at all. I also understand that 2009 Norton will cold stop drive by viruses. I have not had any problem since I started using it in May. I also bought it for my home computer and I have been happy with it. The earlier versions of Norton would crash systems like McAfee.
