Windows 7 problems
I am having 3 problems with Windows 7.
First, error in Windows update: "WindowsUpdate_8024402C"
The suggested MS help did not really do anything.
Second, Windows Security Center will not turn on, the error is just that, it will not turn on.
Third, my system restore will not work, tried several dates, all the way back to the last entry, about 8 days ago.
I have done all virus scans, deleted all unneeded programs Googled all three, but no real help.
I am hoping that someone will have a clue.
Thanks

#1 Perhaps of help (should also apply to Win7) http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...504611033.mspx
or maybe
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906602
#3 Run System Restore in Safe Mode. This assumes you do have System Restore points.

Welshjim, thanks for your suggestions, I have been trough the MS help, unless I missed something it did not help me.
I tried System Restore in safe mode, no change at all. I must have spent about four hours on Google and on MS sites and got absolutely no good results, lot's of suggestions, but none of them worked.
I really do not want to reinstall Win 7 now, waiting for Nov 22.

burgert--Here is another reference
http://www.updatexp.com/0x8024402c.html
If still no help, when you are at the Windows Update site, you should have a left panel that says "Review your Update History". Click that. It should give you more info on the error.

burgert--No help at the Windows Update site?
Regrets. The error code is common. But the fixes do not seem to work for you.
