Maxtor one touch 4 mini

co-worker had this 'installed' on his machine

he wiped his machine and reinstalled the os

Opens on “safely remove hardware” but doesn’t show as a drive
Unallocated drive

any suggestions?

i have a feeling, and this is right out of my elbow, that he enabled some type of security and it wrote sometype of encription key on his machine and when he wiped it the drive is looking for that key

Have a look in Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management (or Start>Run>diskmgmt.msc), and tell us what it reports the status of the drive as in there please. Posting a screenshot would be ideal.
