    AV for Win7

I'm looking for suggestions on a antivirus program for Windows7. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of which program they feel is the best?

FYI, I am not a fan of Norton (Symantec) in any stretch of the imagination.....

    Thank-you!!

I have used Norton 2009 on an XP system, and it is a completely different product than the 2003-2008 and 360 versions. It does live up to its reviews of having a light footprint, and it is Windows 7 ready according to its specs. I would not recommend previous versions of Norton however - they protected your system by sucking up all the resources so no other software (malware or not) could run effectively.

AVG Free is compatible with Windows 7 RC. I have Norton on my XP machine, but I did not try installing on Windows 7 as I could not get confirmation it was Win7 ready. AVG Free was actually linked via MS as being ready. It has worked fine and I may switch to it completely as I upgrade all of my computers to Win7.
If life was simple then it would be no fun.

    Regards, Mike
