Booting .iso from a flash drive

While searching for a flash drive I game across this (http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/826360...e/Product.html)

The thing that caught my eye was in the review "Supplied with software to make drive bootable using .iso file."

Anyone know of more details on this software specifically or any other software that will work on any drive?

I am trying to search myself but 'boot, iso, flash drive' come up with a lot of hits.

What is your long term goal? To load an OS on a flash drive and be able to boot off of it??

If so, does your BIOS support it?
Are you aware it'll be a whole bunch slower and will only run on the one machine due to driver issues?
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

yes my computer does boot from USB flash drive and I was mainly wanting to maily try out live linux / bsd CD distros and rescue CDs

I have tried it and it does work on my computer but I have to extract the files first then run a utility to make the flash drive bootable.

If it could be done from an iso it would be a lot easier.
