Not sure what you mean when you use the word "standing."
But...reboot the pc. In Win Explorer click on the memstick. (do not open the map file) Right click on the map file and select delete.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

It sounds like the file has been corrupted.
Try deleting it using command prompt..
start>run> [type] cmd [enter]
in the dos window type..
del [path to file] [enter]
eg- del D:\folder\sample.jpg [enter]
Since the file name is corrupted as well you will not be able to type the name.
First try to rename the file. If it won't allow itself to be renamed then
hilite that file, right click it and select rename... when the corrupted file name
is hilited copy it using the mouse>right click>copy or use the keyboard to copy ctrl/C
then to paste it into the cmd prompt window use the mouse.. right click the dos
window and select paste. So the procedure would be to type..
del D:\folder\
then right click the window and select "paste" which will copy the file name after
the last back slash.
If that doesn't work try running a chkdsk on the drive first then the above again.
Make sure you try to delete the correct file. Files deleted using command prompt
do not go to the recycle bin.
Alternately you could try first running the chkdsk and then try deleting the file the
normal way using the del key on the keyboard.
Also worth mentioning is if you get stuck in a game of trying to rename the
file, not being allowed to and not being able to retype/re-enter the original
corrupted file name just close windows explorer and re-open it to get back
to the original corrupted file name.
