online school for a new career...web design
I wanted to get your view on the subject. Because I work a rotating shift at work I decided to go to school online. I am married with 3 kids and the only income at the moment so going to a real school is out of the question. I am trying to hopfully start a new career in computers and would like to know if I am screwing myself by doing it this way. All comment are welcome. The school if PF since I don't know if I can post the name here or not. Thanks again.

Before spending money needlessly,
Cheaper to just borrow books from the local library and study.
If you really enjoy it after reading/completing several books, then consider school.
As a bonus,
Money that you initially save, can go towards computer hardware.
Cheers.

I agree, there's an awful lot to be learned out there without shelling out any additional money. Study websites like w3schools.com, great place for beginners to start to pick up just about any language in use today on the web. Start with HTML, then CSS, then JavaScript. After that, maybe PHP or Java for the web
There is nothing to fear, but life itself.

It shouldn't take years to learn basic web site design. More advanced sites for database access or web commerce do require learning more coding.
