[RESOLVED] I'm thinking of...
Buying a USB Flash Memory drive or a USB portable external HDD to backup my HDD through Acronis TI.
I already image my HDD to Acronis Secure Zone. Now, I'd like to backup my HDD to a different drive for safe keeping.
What you, guys, usually do in this case?
I need your feedback.
Thank you
Ngan
PS: my whole HDD will hold around 16+ gig of space. So, I'm thinking of getting a 32gig usb flash memory stick or a usb external portable drive. Which way do you suggest? I you go by external portable drive, which brand would I get?
Any alternative?

Did not encounter any issues using Acronis TI v.11 to backup to an Vantec NexStar Hard Drive Dock with a USB interface...

Most people will do standard image backups. Older versions of Acronis didn't even have the recovery partition.
I'd go with an external hard drive rather than a flash drive.

I'm with Midknyte, I'd go with the external HDD too. I do find flash drives very useful for backing up the really important stuff - I generally back up my Documents folder to one as well as making my image backups to an external hard drive.

Hi! Shinma,
I've decided to get a Vantec Nextar HHD dock similar to yours.
One last question: I will have to buy a 2.5" or 3.5" external HD too. Is it correct?
Do you leave your Vantec Nextar plugged into your PC all the time? What happens when you turn your PC off?
Sorry I asked silly questions. This is the first time I will be using this device
Thank you
Ngan

Correct. Any standard 3.5" SATA I/II hard drive.
You could also 2.5" hard drive but since those are intended for laptops, they cost more.

No. It would just be a waste of energy having it on all the time.
I only connect it when I need to.
That dock uses AC power.
Remember to power off the dock before removing the hard drive!
Cheers.
