Can't stay logged in at Virtual Dr
I don't know why - I check the box to "remember me" (I forget the actual wording) and CCleaner is keeping cookies from both discussions.virtualdr.com and virtualdr.com. Every day when I come back to VDR I have to login again but if I make multiple posts during a 12-24 hour time period I can stay logged in.
XP Pro SP3 & IE 8.
I also get the same problem with web-based Yahoo Mail.

CCleaner is keeping cookies from both discussions.virtualdr.com and virtualdr.com.
Clarify this, please - are you saying it's allowing cookies, or preventing them?
Sounds as if a setting in some program is dumping cookies on every shutdown.

CCleaner is allowing those cookies. I religiously monitor CCleaner's cookies window to decide which to keep or discard.
Some other programs that might be dumping cookies:
Internet Explorer 8
SUPERAntispyware free (doubt it)
Online Armor firewall (free)
avast! v4.8 Home (free) a/v scanner
I don't know what is causing this unless I need to keep some advertising cookies. I also have this problem with free Yahoo Mail.

That is unchecked but under Browsing history > Settings the "Disk space to use" is set at 1024 MB. In Browsing history > Settings > Temporary Internet Files and History > Check for newer versions of stored pages I have "Automatically" ticked (other options are 1. Every time I visit the webpage; 2. Every time I start Internet Explorer; and 4. Never).

Hmm, my InPrivate was set to "Choose content to block or allow" and I didn't even know it! Most of the content providers were things like quantserve.com, googlesyndication, doubleclick, google-analytics.

I have remained logged in from Yesterday 06:02 PM until Today 09:40 AM and my computer has Hibernated twice during that time. I'm just trying to see if there is a specific period of time that will log me out. Just to clarify, are these the only cookies that I need to keep in order to stay logged in:

I use Cookie Jar 1.0.1

to control my cookies.
I have a few like you that I save.
When I open it is shows all the cookies, I select the one I whish to save and Select the Add to Save Button
When I have all I want, then I click File and the Save.
Now all I have to do is hit the select all when in the undecided tab, then hit the Delet button.
I do not use anything else to get rid of the cookies as those programs will remove the saved ones too.
Do a search here in vdr for jasons cookie jar and you will find a lot has been posted over the years.

AFAIK, I am not using anything other than CCleaner to manage cookies. IE 8's Browsing history "Delete" line is UNchecked.
I ran defrag and ChkDsk an hour ago and when XP started after ChkDsk I noticed that I had to login again here and at Yahoo Mail.
This is kind of a trivial problem but it is aggravating nonetheless.

Yes it is aggravating and why I do not touch cookies with CCleaner anymore.

FWIW, I have never had a single problem with the CCleaner cookie manager until I installed IE 8.
