VCR to computer.
How would I connect my VCR to my computer? I don't really want to install any cards in my computer or anything. Is there a cord that has the red, yellow and white connectors on one end but a USB on the other? Will Windows movie maker be able to handle the vcr data? Maybe the cord itself will have some sort of a converter box on it. I need it to transfer old tapes to my computer. Thanks!

Keep in mind that if you don't buy a device that specifically says it will do compression (MPEG2 or MPEG4) in hardware, then you're going to be putting quite a load on the PC (and USB buss for that matter). An underpowered system will end up dropping video frames (jerkiness) or fail to keep the video and audio in sync.
