    Cool The Purpose of Scanning in Safe Mode

    I t ypically routinely run Routine Scans..I do it in regular mode...but what's gives the reason to run it in Safe Mode?

    A lot of programs are not running, therefore they do not interfere with the removal of nasties. Like the nasties themselves.

    Normally you would do it in regular mode but switch to safe mode only if the scanner is having problems. There are some cases where safe mode does work better initially but generally not. Also some a/v scanners don't work themselves in safe mode because certain modules don't start up.

    Because of what Train said, some scanners, like Superantispyware, are specially designed to be run in Safe Mode.
